Facial Treatments at Ace of Face Aesthetics

Healthy, glowing skin starts with the right treatment plan. At Ace of Face, I believe skincare is about much more than a relaxing facial. Every treatment is tailored to your skin concerns, lifestyle and goals, whether you’re looking to improve acne, pigmentation, fine lines, enlarged pores or dullness, or simply maintain healthy skin. As a Registered Nurse Prescriber, I combine medical knowledge with advanced skincare techniques, and every treatment begins with a thorough skin consultation and assessment.

Choose from luxury facials to deeply cleanse, nourish and revitalise your skin, dermaplaning to gently remove dead skin cells and peach fuzz for an instantly smoother complexion, or chemical peels to encourage healthy new skin cells and improve tone, texture and congestion. Treatments can also be combined into a bespoke skin programme, and we’ll decide together which option will best help you achieve the results you’re hoping for.

Facial Treatment FAQs

What does a luxury facial involve?

A luxury facial is designed to deeply cleanse, nourish and revitalise your skin. It helps improve hydration, brighten dull complexions, boost circulation and leave your skin feeling refreshed and glowing, while giving you time to truly relax.

Dermaplaning is a non-invasive treatment that gently removes dead skin cells and fine facial hair (peach fuzz) using a sterile surgical blade. It leaves skin instantly smoother and brighter, helps your skincare absorb better and gives a flawless base for makeup.

No. This is one of the biggest myths about dermaplaning. The hair grows back exactly as it was before.

Chemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin and encourage healthy new skin cells to develop. They can help with acne, congested skin, pigmentation, melasma, fine lines, uneven skin tone, dullness and ageing skin. The type and strength of peel is always chosen to suit your skin.

Not always. Some peels cause visible peeling, while others produce very little peeling while still working effectively beneath the surface.

Facials and dermaplaning have no downtime, making them ideal before holidays or special occasions. Chemical peels may cause mild redness, tightness or slight peeling, which usually settles quickly.

After a facial, yes. After dermaplaning, ideally wait until the following day. After a chemical peel, wait until advised, usually 24 hours.

Most clients benefit from a facial every 4–6 weeks to maintain healthy skin, although this depends on your skin and goals.

Absolutely. Many treatments work exceptionally well together. During your consultation, we’ll discuss combination treatments and bespoke skin programmes, including microneedling, to help you achieve the best possible results.

Not always, but using high-quality skincare at home can help improve and maintain your results. I’ll only recommend products I genuinely believe will benefit your skin, and there’s never any pressure to buy.

Treatment may need to be postponed if you have an active cold sore or skin infection, are using certain prescription skincare medications, have recently had excessive sun exposure, are pregnant (for certain treatments) or have certain medical conditions. Your consultation will always determine the safest treatment for your skin.

Before Your Appointment

To help your facial appointment run smoothly and get the best possible results, please take a moment to read the following advice before your treatment.

  • No need to arrive makeup-free. Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed at the start of your treatment, so you can come as you are and relax from the moment you arrive.
  • Please let me know of any changes to your medical history, medications or health since booking, including any prescription skincare medications, as some may affect which treatments are suitable.
  • Stay well hydrated in the days before your appointment. Well-hydrated skin responds beautifully to treatment and helps you get the most from your facial.
  • Avoid excessive sun exposure, sunbeds and fake tan in the days before your appointment, as sun-exposed or sensitised skin may mean treatment needs to be postponed.
  • Avoid exfoliating products and strong active ingredients for a few days before a chemical peel or dermaplaning, unless I’ve advised otherwise.
  • Dermaplaning and facials are ideal before holidays or special occasions. If you’re booking a chemical peel, allow 7–14 days before an event, as results continue to improve over this time.
  • If you have an active cold sore or skin infection, or are feeling unwell, please get in touch before your appointment so I can advise you.
  • If you’re pregnant or think you may be, please let me know, as certain skin treatments aren’t suitable during pregnancy.
  • If you’re unsure which treatment is right for your skin, I always recommend booking a skin consultation first, so we can create a plan together.

Most importantly, I want you to feel relaxed, reassured and in safe hands, knowing every step of your treatment has been carefully explained and tailored to you.

Aftercare Advice

To get the very best from your facial treatment, please follow the aftercare guidance below. It protects your skin and helps your results last.

  • Wear SPF 30–50 every day to protect your skin, especially after peels and dermaplaning.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure and sunbeds while your skin settles.
  • Avoid exfoliating products until I’ve advised you to start using them again.
  • Keep your skin well hydrated. Hydration helps maintain your glow and supports healthy, balanced skin.
  • Avoid swimming, saunas, steam rooms and strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours where advised.
  • After a facial, makeup can be worn straight away. After dermaplaning, ideally wait until the following day.
  • After a chemical peel, wait until advised before applying makeup, usually 24 hours.
  • Avoid picking or peeling any flaking skin after a chemical peel, and let it shed naturally.
  • Mild redness, tightness, dryness, slight peeling or temporary sensitivity can occur, depending on your treatment, and usually settle quickly.
  • Facials and dermaplaning give an immediate glow, while chemical peel results continue to improve over the following 7–14 days.
  • If anything worries you or you have any questions after your treatment, please contact me directly. As a nurse, your safety and wellbeing always come first.

My aim is to help you achieve healthy, radiant skin, while making sure you feel supported, informed and looked after at every stage of your skincare journey.
